Lesioi Farm
A WordPress website, Google optimization, and social media strategy that took an agritourism farm in Limuru from zero online bookings to ranking #1 on Google for "Farm stay Kenya."
Project Details
Project Overview
Lesioi Farm is a family-run agritourism destination in Limuru, Kenya — just 30 to 40 minutes from Nairobi. Founded in 2014 by Gladys and Paul Kigen, the farm started as a weekend hobby before evolving into a full-time residence and working farm. Located off Dagoretti Road near AIC Tharuni Church, Lesioi offers farm stays, camping experiences, organized farm tours, a farm kitchen, and an online shop selling organic produce, farm-fresh goods, and home items. The farm is home to dairy goats, ornamental birds, rabbits, a herb garden, and an organic vegetable garden growing indigenous Kenyan vegetables.
Despite offering a unique experience that urban Kenyans increasingly seek — a genuine working farm stay just half an hour from the city — Lesioi Farm had no effective online presence to capture this demand. Their website was basic and wasn't appearing in Google searches for key terms like "farm stay Kenya" or "farm stay Limuru." With agritourism growing rapidly in Kenya, competitors with better online visibility were capturing guests who would have been a perfect fit for Lesioi's offering.
Gladys approached Quest to build a comprehensive digital strategy: a professional WordPress website with WooCommerce integration for their farm shop, aggressive Google optimization to dominate search results for farm stay and agritourism keywords, and an active social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest to reach families, couples, and groups looking for a countryside escape near Nairobi.
Hidden in the Highlands
A unique farm stay experience just 30 minutes from Nairobi — but invisible to the thousands of people searching for exactly that.
Invisible on Google
Searching "farm stay Kenya" or "farm stay Limuru" returned competitors and generic travel listings — Lesioi Farm was nowhere to be found. An estimated 85% of agritourism bookings in Kenya start with a Google search, meaning the farm was missing the vast majority of potential guests.
No Online Booking Path
Guests could only book by calling or WhatsApp messaging a single phone number. There was no way to browse packages, check availability, or see pricing online. An estimated 65% of potential visitors dropped off before making that first call.
Untapped Social Audience
Despite having social media profiles on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest, Lesioi Farm had no consistent content strategy. Beautiful farm imagery and guest experiences weren't being shared to reach the urban Nairobi audience actively seeking weekend getaway ideas.
The Bottom Line
An estimated 70% of potential guests were booking with competitors who ranked higher on Google — despite Lesioi offering a more authentic farm experience.
How We Built It
A full digital overhaul — professional WordPress website with WooCommerce farm shop, aggressive SEO targeting agritourism keywords, and a social media content strategy to reach urban Kenyans.
Discovery & Keyword Research
Weeks 1-2We visited Lesioi Farm in Limuru to photograph the property, experience the farm stay firsthand, and understand what makes it special — the dairy goats, organic vegetable garden, herb garden, ornamental birds, and the peaceful countryside setting. We conducted deep keyword research, identifying high-value terms like "farm stay Kenya", "farm stay Limuru", "camping Limuru", and "agritourism Kenya" — mapping search volumes and competitor gaps.
Design & Content Architecture
Weeks 3-4Designed a warm, nature-inspired WordPress theme using the Farmhouse theme framework with WPBakery Page Builder for rich layouts. Created dedicated pages for each experience — Farm Stays, Camping, Farm Tours, Farm Kitchen, Events — plus an About page telling Gladys and Paul's story of building the farm from a weekend hobby into a thriving agritourism destination. Every page was structured with SEO-optimized headings and content.
Development & E-Commerce
Weeks 5-7Built the WordPress site with WooCommerce integration for the farm shop — Organic Market, Farm Fresh produce, and Home & Living categories. Integrated a reservation inquiry system, Instagram feed, weather widget for Limuru, and a contact form routing to both email ([email protected] and [email protected]) and WhatsApp notifications. Implemented Slider Revolution for an immersive homepage showcasing the farm's beauty.
SEO, Social Media & Launch
Week 8Deployed Yoast SEO with optimized meta titles, descriptions, and schema markup for every page — targeting "farm stay Kenya", "farm stay Limuru", "camping Limuru", and 20+ long-tail keywords. Set up Google Business Profile, built local citations, and created a content calendar for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest featuring farm life content, guest experiences, and seasonal promotions like Valentine's Dinner events.
Measurable Impact
Within six months, Lesioi Farm went from invisible on Google to the #1 result for their most valuable keywords — transforming their booking pipeline.
